What Article 50 actually asks of a website

Three duties. Two of them are easier than they sound.

01 · Text

AI text needs a disclosure, unless a person has reviewed it

The Act lifts the duty for published text where it has had genuine human review and someone holds editorial responsibility for it. That review has to be real, and you have to be able to show it happened.

02 · Images

AI images need a visible label on the page

There is no review carve-out for images. Metadata, alt text and a line in the footer do not count. A label the reader can see is the only thing that does, which is why images are where most sites fall short.

03 · Records

You need to be able to prove it later

A review nobody can evidence is a review that did not happen. Every sign-off on Swornmark is written to a tamper-evident log with a certificate anyone can verify, on your site and ours.
